Past? Future? Present Indeed

Last night my friend and I were chatting online. We talked about the past, the days we kept promises. The future, the days we will have when we get our own jobs, families, dreams, vacations... etc. But, we would never realise the present when we were having conversation, the moment we were sharing stories, the joy we had, and the silent and peaceful night, not until the day we chat again. Notice how easily our awareness wanders away from the present moment. Observe how much of the time we find ourselves thinking about the past and how much we think about the future. We will be surprised at the results.

Wake up to the present. The future is promised to no one, so live each day as well as we can. Have goals and ambitions by all means, but remember we can only work towards achieving them in the present. Keep bringing our thoughts back to the now. Pay attention to where we are and what we are doing. Appreciate what we have right here, right now. This is how we live in the present moment, not too difficult, is it?

Yesterday is but a dream and tomorrow is only a vision.
But today well lived makes every yesterday a dream of happiness.
And every tomorrow a vision of hope.

Traditional Indian Poem

Live with the present.

Ricky.
